Closing Correctly

To meet ADA standards, interior doors must not swing shut too quickly. It must take at least 5 seconds from the open position for the door to go 12 degrees from the latch. Additionally, doors must not require much pressure to open - in fact, the law is less than 5 pounds of force. Slamming door = deadly! We've seen the unfortunate effects of doors that shut too hard. People have literally had fingers severed when caught in a door that slams.
