Fire Code Friday: Panic Hardware

TGIFire Code Friday! You are likely familiar with the basics of panic hardware (NFPA 101, but there are a few very important details to keep in mind.

1. The actuating portion of the device must be at least half the width of the door.

2. The device must be mounted between 34-48″ above the finished floor.

3. Panic hardware shall not be equipped with a lock or other device that prevents the release of the latch.
