Tech Talk: Aric

Who better to ask about locks than the knowledgeable technicians who work on them every day? This month, we’re featuring Aric. He has 9 years of experience and is an electronics specialist, including ADA operators and DoorKing Systems. If FedLock has worked with your access control or electronics, you’ve likely met Aric.

Q: What is your favorite type of lock to repair/replace? Why?
A: I enjoy installing any hardware and being able to step back to admire the installation and function, from auto operators to magnetic locks. 

Q: What advice would you give about home locks and why?
A: I recommend that you read your user or owner manuals to unlock the full capabilities of your home locks, especially smart locks. I also recommend a good electronic lock for your home to reduce the need for physical keys and to have control over access to your home.

Q: What is the most memorable job you’ve completed? 
A: My most memorable job was pulling camera footage from a commercial building in downtown DC to assist a federal agency that was working an investigation. The building management company called us to access the footage immediately after the incident so they could identify the perpetrators.
