FedLock in Action: Continuous Hinges

by Stacey Simmons

Continuous hinges are the utility player of door hardware you can rely on to solve and prevent many issues. Door bumping the frame when the door closes? Latch not latching when the door closes? Lock difficult to operate when door is closed? You likely have a hinge problem. We can remedy that problem and the solution will last for decades!

Say goodbye to dragging and sagging on the floor or frame. No more closing issues caused by misaligned latches. Bid farewell to gaps and inconsistent clearance around the door’s edges.

Continuous hinges distribute the weight and pressure of the door through the entire height of the door, rather than only 3 hinges, with much of that weight on the top hinge. Continuous hinges are factory tested to 25 million cycles so they are an investment that pay for themselves throughout the life of the door. They are made in various hardware finishes and can be used on standard doors, fire doors, and automated / handicap accessible doors.

Because continuous hinges are so versatile, they can be installed on many door locations. They are very popular for loading docks, restrooms, trash rooms, or anywhere that is high traffic. Below are some projects that our techs have completed. Can you think of busier doors than a shopping center or high school cafeteria? They really are an MVP – most valuable piece of hardware!  Contact us with questions or to learn more about solutions for your building.
