Tech Talk: Duane

Who better to ask about locks than the knowledgeable technicians who work on them every day? This month, we’re featuring Duane. He has 5 years of experience and is knowledgeable about a variety of hardware. If Duane has ever been to your building, you know he always has a smile on his face.

Q: What is your favorite type of lock to repair/replace? Why?
A: My favorite lock to install is the Adams Rite deadlatch. It is versatile and fulfills the customer’s need.

Q: What advice would you give about home locks and why?
A: If you purchase a lock from a big box store, it should be rekeyed when you install it. For the best security of your home, you don’t want it to be off-the-shelf without any modification. 

Q: What is the most memorable job you’ve completed? 
A: My most memorable job was my first job. We drilled out Icores in an office suite. It was a great learning experience!
