FedLock in Action: Vertical Rod Exit Device

by Stacey Simmons

When a local boutique hotel had issues with unauthorized people accessing their ballrooms, they knew exactly who to call for assistance: FedLock! We had to abide by both aesthetic appeal and life-safety codes. Working with concealed vertical rod exit devices can be challenging, and adding an auxiliary locking mechanism adds another layer of complexity.
Our technicians were able to take down the doors, cut in the auxiliary lock prep, and ensure the interior channel of the door would still allow for the rods to move up and down with ease. It’s been a month since we completed the project and we have a happy customer with a secure door who doesn’t need to lose sleep at night.
